Description

Thank you for your interest in being a Peer-as-Leader (PAL) at A Camp to Remember (ACTR) – Flathead Lake Youth Camp!

2025 ACTR Youth camp will take place August 7-10 (Thursday late afternoon through Sunday morning) on the shores of Flathead Lake, MT.

ALL teens must apply and will be screened before being accepted as a PAL. Space is limited and a spot as a PAL is not guaranteed.

If this is your first time applying as a PAL please submit a letter of support from an adult reference (i.e. teacher, counselor, employer) commenting on your strengths and leadership skills to aubreyh@tamarackgrc.org. Return PALs do not need to submit a reference.

  • The desire to be a role model for younger campers by assisting at Camp and participating in teen activities

Upon being accepted to camp, you will receive additional information (directions to camp, schedules, times of arrival and departure, etc.)

Our team is committed to hosting a magnificent and meaningful A Camp to Remember that is a positive experience for all. Our biggest goal is to provide an emotionally and physically safe camp experience. Together we will determine if you/your teen is likely to benefit from camp. Your thoughtful, honest, and complete responses help us best support you as a PAL. Campers of any age must be able to engage constructively with others in group settings and must not require one-on-one supervision to do so throughout the days and nights. Loving volunteers join TGRC Staff to ensure a 3:1 Camper:Staff ratio throughout camp. Please note: Though trained in grief support and nature-based programming, many volunteers do not have training nor experience in significant behavior challenges.

Good news! TGRC has many support options available for teens. If you are a high school student grieving the death of a family member or loved one who does not meet the above criteria for consideration, or if we have reached capacity, our Program Team is happy to explore other resources that may be enjoyable and beneficial for you.

Please call with questions or for additional information! We look forward to receiving your PAL application!
